Saw this growing up a tree on the side of the road, so of course I had to stop and take some cuttings.
But what is it ?
Here's the bloom
Vine Id
It's gorgeous! I must have it!!!!
Well, I know where I can get more cuttings. I have NO idea how easy it will be to root tho. I've got it in vermiculite now.
It kind of looks like a clitoria .. were the leaves round?
X
no, leaves are more elongated, lance like (see pic of leaves above ) , this vine was HUGE. ....big clusters of lavender scented flowers.

The bud definitely looks like a sweet pea .. but the flowers don't.

I wish I could have gotten a picture before it wilted. I have to go back that way later this week and I'll take my camera.
Reminds me of a wisteria, but I'm not sure if they will be flowering now...
My Wisteria flowers off and on from spring until fall.
It might be Japanese Wisteria

It's Wisteria.
The flowers are not blue like the Wisteria's I'm used to seeing around here. I think that's what threw me at first.
Japanese wisteria isn't blue really but there are several types of wisteria.
I didn't think Wisteria bloomed this time of year, I thought it was a spring flower??
Typically that's true, however, sudden weather changes or shock can prompt them into blooming at other times.
