Mockingbird.
Daily Pics Vol 242
Nice pics GP!
Guess what guy's? It looks like 1 of the Red-bellied Woodpecker pairs have had a second nesting!!! I saw the father coming in getting food and flying into a nearby tree where a small juvenile came down to retrieve it. I got a better look with the binoculars and this is definitely a much younger juvenile than the ones from the first nesting. I looked it up online and found this:
May attempt 2 broods each season, but not at the same nest site. Most only raise one brood each season.
Nice pics nanny; love the Nuthatch!
some awesome pictures there guys!
I was outside a while ago and saw what I think was a small group of Waxwings fly over, and right after that a bird that appeared to be a Goldfinch...but it seems awfully early for them.
Great shots, Nanny, Mrs Ed and GP. Rose I love the Hawk and Mockingbird series. Well captured.
Terrific shots everyone. Nan! Wow! The Barred Owl captured my attention! Oh I love those Mockingbirds that were so gusto to harrash the Hawk. I've enjoyed all the pictures. Thanks everyone. Hi Margaret.
Great pix of the Downie in action Marna.
Great shots there, Mrs Ed. Who won?
Prop's to all on your picture's. Dinu, I cant wait for your next bird!
Mrs_Ed, cool pic of the Downy. What kind of suet are you feeding?
I find my Downies and Red-bellies really like peanut treat or orange treat. And Jay birds, too.

Nice shots Mrs Ed! Love the Downy!
The Canada Geese are a very handsome bird. Good shots Hack!!
I like to see the C. Geese and Mallard mingling. And the Chinese Goose is pretty too. Thanks Hack.
You all have been busy posting all your birds. Mrs. Ed...love the battle between the Downy and Sparrow...I'm betting the Downy won!
Pelle, that was interesting about the 2nd nest on the Red-bellied WP. Nanny...last year I relied on you to let me know which Warblers were heading our way. Great variety GP and Hack!!
Late yesterday I spotted 5 Northern Bob-white Quail out back. Only got lousy shots and here is one of them which I think is a juvenile or female. They are no longer calling so their visits are always a surprise...I will have to get set up and wait to see if they show again this evening.
Their beautiful Rose! I would love to see them.
Last night in Cape May at the "Meadows" a Yellow-headed Blackbird was seen! Here is a photo from Bob Fogg. http://www.keekeekerr.com/nj/yhbb_090609.jpg
Oh man, that's a gorgeous picture, Pelle. Cute bird too. thanks for linking us.
Well I believe that the two birds just agreed to share the suet. That one is Woodpecker treat, but it is the Farm and Fleet brand (only 88 cents!). I also bought a peanut treat.
She is beautiful nanny!
Mrs Ed, Is it a regular suet? That is a GREAT price!
