We just had a large blue spruce removed in our front yard in a sunny southeast corner of our corner lot . We are located in central Wisconsin. Any thoughts on a replacement tree would be appreciated. All of a sudden we have a very sunny front yard.

Prairie Du Sac! Not far from where my mom grew up in Middleton...we would visit up there every summer, sometimes getting away to Baraboo. Hi from someone with some of that good black soil in their blood.
I'm going to assume that you'd rather have more summer shade, but enjoy the winter sun (that lasts, oh, nine months?).
So, pick a deciduous tree that tolerates your Wisconsin climate, and decide on a scale of tree that suits you. If you want/need a tall shade tree, then sugar maple or one of several oaks might just be the ticket. If you are NOT interested in shading the house and want more of the glorious sun, a smaller or intermediate size tree like an American hornbeam or yellowwood could fit the bill.
Create an outline of requirements, and then start narrowing what is a pretty broad field of answers.
