Can someone id these plants

I think it might be a spear sansevieria but Im not sure & I dont know why its turning brown in spots, and I dont know how to care for it.any suggestion welcome. thanks

Yes it is - Sansevieria cylindrica. They like to be on the dry side.

With that deep central grove, might be Sansevieria gracilis.

My guess is too much water. They tolerate sun. Why not look up both varieties in plantfiles?
