What exactly the 4" is being referred to?
Question - What do they mean by "Finish Time to 4inches"
Terra Nova is a wholesale nursery that sells flats of "plugs" (small round cells) to retail nurseries.
My guess is that the finish time of 6-8 weeks is how long they estimate for the plug to grow into and fill out a 4" pot.
The retailer would then know how far ahead to order plugs, so that they could have a sale size plant ready to go 6 to 8 weeks after they receive and pot up their plugs into 4 inch pots.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense now. Yes- I'm aware TNN is a wholesaler. In fact I just ordered over 20 new plugs from the co-op where TNN is the supplier. I was just wondering since they were showing that information under the 'homeowners' section at TNN.

You are right. It would take 6-8 weeks to make a 4" pot filled out/saleable. When we order them in we need to know this info. It helps with sales - most people wouldn't buy a newly stuck plug in a 4" pot for $10+ dollars but will buy a more established plant with roots that are filling out the pot and larger tops.
