This poor little Anna's hummer looked like it had been in a battlefield. I think it may have been molting, but not sure.
Yep, moulting. You can see some of the new 'pin' feathers, still just growing out of their sheaths.

Thank you Resin.
Roybird, sure looks like a male Black-chinned to me too. You're lucky to have him there. Wonder if he's on his way south? Great pictures, these little guys sure are fast. Hope you'll take some photos of the Broad-tailed. They don't get to our area at all and they look so pretty in my books.
This one was drinking on the run.
Very nice ones duc!
Still here and totally luvin the pics! duc I think you are part hummer.
:-)
Help! I'm so addicted!!
Yes we appreciate it! :-)
Yes, we're enablers!!!
Lovely!
How cute! I just love those hummers. Will look for my broadtails soon.
Duc, I love that grooming pic along with the others!
CUTE!
Hummingbirds are so great! And beautiful photos, too.
Wonderful photos, duc. I'm always intrigued by their tiny little feet hanging down.
Oh man! Hummers feeding from a bottle cap in your palm - that is just too much.
The moment my few hummers see me, they skedaddle. Maybe, I need to hang around them more.
But then again, I've only been feeding them about 2 months. How long do they have to be around a person before they'll feed that way?

I wouldn't say very long. Next year just try sitting by the feeders for a while until they are used to you.
Will do, thanks Mrs_Ed.

My mother's husband sits on the porch for hours in the summer and soon they are landing on his arm.
