Earwigs and delphinium

Do earwigs eat delphinium? If so, what does the damage look like? And what does one do about it?

Earwigs will chew on a variety of vegetation, but very seldom are real pests in that regard. I doubt that the damage doe by them would readily be distinguishable from that caused by many other chewing insects - see http://tinyurl.com/kkc42j
