plant ID needed

Xai Xai, Mozambique

this plant is one of the most common found in Mozambique, almost every garden has one. there are different types, but in the same family. could someone please tell me what this plant is called?

It's a croton (Codiaeum variegatum); very common also in Florida and easily propagated from cuttings.

I agree, it's a croton. There a very wide range of foliage available in these - colours and shapes. They're very hardy plants and don't really need looking after. Some people are avid collectors.

thanks everyone! yes, there is a very large range of foliage available, i have several types myself. i know a Portuguese lady who has all they different types avaible here. i am posting the closeup.
