Gidday',
Would you know this grass looking plant that sends up long stemmed flowers. The colour of these ones were orangey.

Would you know me?
Hi Debi, it could be Watsonia, by the look of it.

Hey Sue,
I am not sure if this is correct.
Having looked closely at the dead flower stalk, it looks like it has a stalk with a flower at the top.
The dead flower it's self, sitting ontop of the stalk has the grass look outer with very fine small flower stalks.
I have seen a Gladioli and this is completely different as in the look of the flower???
Will try to get a pic of just the flower (dead), it sits on a flower stalk, ok.
Debi
The dead flower looks a little like cyperus papyrus, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyperus_papyrus
but that leaf in the first pic doesn't look right. Does it belong to the same plant
I'm afraid its got me beat debi. MAybe you'll hve to wait until it flowers again and post a picture then.
Sue
