A garden surprise

Lothair, MT(Zone 4a)

My shrub rose is blooming and I bent down to sniff her sweet scent. I saw something move as I was standing up. Can you see her? It has to be a 'her' of course. She is wearing pink stripes!

Maybe a close up will help. I am sooo not a spider fan, but this one was pretty. Brilliant white with bright pink stripes.

Oh my goodness.

Yes, and I had just had my nose in that rose bloom! LOL My husband even picked her up. She was actually incredibly beautiful.

I have never seen any spider like that! At first I thought you were referring to a spider lily or something!

I posted to the insect ID forum and they told me it is called a goldenrod crab spider. Here is a picture of its normal color scheme. http://tinyurl.com/kjn9jv I guess she just dressed up to go to the garden!

Cool, Jennie. How pretty. She was having a garden party, of course!
