Great leaves...can anyone help with the name?
ID please....Trepanax?
Hi Carol, I saw that plant at the Garden Exchange labeled as a Schefflera. I can't find it in any book though.
Howdy girlfriend! Could it be schefflera actinophylla?

Thanks Shari! Never thought it might be a cultivar of the common species.
Hmmmm. If you look at the petioles (which connects the leaf to the stem?)...mine are quite long which the Sheff. isn't. Do you think that matters?
The leaf petioles in Schefflera actinophylla are said to reach 32 inches long.
That's a cultivar of the ordinary Umbrella Tree, Schefflera actinophylla? I saw something like that for sale one time but never took any notice of the name. Certainly a lot different to what I'm used to.
Hi,
It is Schefflera actinophylla 'Nova'....
Andy
"Nova" to me for sure. The ordinary one is native here, also to Queensland and Papua New Guinea. In PNG I saw some growing as epiphytes. Or at least on other trees like ficus does.
Sheffy's'll do that...we have a HUGE Dward Shef that has 'strangled' two Ohia (tall trees) and the limbs are very 'viney'...Also the 'Octopus Tree'...that Brassaica (sp?) sprouts everywhere and eventually strangles the host. Better build a hurricane fense around that baby and get some Pit Bulls!!!
