I have the following historic irises. Most I have never seen in bloom. When 'Quaker Lady' bloomed this year, I found that I did not like it. I have been looking for the ones with the long droopy falls.
Those of you that have seen these in bloom, could you please tell me which ones that are more like the ones I am looking for????

Historic Irises
Debbie,
I have been looking for Russian Bronze -- where did you find it?
But as to your question about droopy falls, I have one that I just divided called Blue Sapphire. Its kind of droopy, but I try not to notice as I like the form more commonly found in the 60's and 70's irises -- lightly ruffled and balanced proportionately.
This is Blue Sapphire.
You can see a photo gallery of historics at the HIPS website.
Yes, I am a member of HIPS but I have found hat you cannot always tell by looking at a picture.
Thanks!!
I wish I could look at a gallery of just the old daylilies; not 30 year old ones! That isn't historic to me. It would have to be before I was born to be historic! 30 year old daylilies look pretty modern to me.
