Every year most of the trees in my yard get these spots. What are they and how do I avoid them? These leaves were taken from Maple, Crab Apple and Apple trees. I live in central ma. Thanks for any help.
What are these spots?
There may be more than one culprit at work here; one possibility is bacterial leaf spot - see http://tinyurl.com/lof9ws for an image - or galls caused by a very small fly in the family Cecidomyiidae - see http://tinyurl.com/l229yu for an example.
Is there anything that I can do to prevent it (bacterial leaf spot)?
See http://tinyurl.com/ltzqx3 for some control suggestions.
