My neighbor rescued 4 cute little brown ducklings from a school that was going to sell them at animal auction. We were wondering what kind of ducks they are. Thanks.
Are these mallard ducks?

Thank you so much. My next door neighbor has them. Will they ever join the wild mallards if she lets them loose? I am afraid of wild critters eating them. They are in a pen with food & water, but no place to swim. Thank you.
They'd certainly like a pond, but won't survive well in wild conditions as they'll have no understanding of avoiding predators.

Most domestics can't fly and that leaves them as easy prey. A little kids plastic pool is fine for them to splash around and wash.
That's what I told my neighbor about the kid's plastic pool. They are putting together a large dog cage for the ducks and a larger doghouse for them to sleep in.
