Bag worms on my arborvitae

Kannapolis, NC

Help! I'm getting an infestation of bag worms on one (just one) of the arborvitae we planted last year along the driveway. It's a large tree, about 8-9 feet tall, maybe more. Anyhow, I've picked off tons of those nasty things and squashed them, but is there something I can spray the tree with? I don't want these speading to my others and so far they appear to be only on this one tree. Yuk!

Bacillus thuringiensis is what you need, labeled for the bagworms on your plants. There are more than a few BT products, so check the labels or ask your professional resource of choice to make sure you get the right one.

It'll be a stomach toxin to those devils (which means that they have to eat it), and not bother the other good things you have around.

I believe that it's the Kurstaki strain. The Israelensis strain is effective only for mosquitos, fungus gnats and black fly.

Thanks, both of you. I knew someone here would have an answer for me. I'll get some at my local farm supply.
