I have a very large clump of Siberian Iris and since it has bloomed it has fallen over in all directions.......I presume it needs split...Is there any specific time I should do this and should the top be cut back when I do?????

Early fall is best, and cut the foliage back to about 6" Keep well watered after division until ground freeze. I divide leaving about 5-6 fans on each division.
