At risk of asking another dumb question is it recommended to deadhead Rugosas? For some reason I thought it wasn't necessary but don't know why,this yound looks sad with by gone blossoms.

I don't think it would hurt anything to deadhead them.
They will bloom a little better if you deadhead them now, but will continue to bloom without deadheading. If you want nice hips, stop deadheading in a month.
