I deadheaded a few of my niobe clematis and it hasnt grown since then; How much damage did I do?

none. after blooming clems need fertilzer and will rest a bit before giving a second flush.
wether or not you deadhead!
if you prune it by taking the top 1/4 of the height off, and fertilize vs just deadhead it may respond with regrowth sooner and have a better second round of blooms. in any case, they will be smaller blooms in all probablility. take a lot out of a plant to bloom so beautifully!

my pleasure. niobe should come back after you do this and maybe even again. it is clem you can get 3 flushes from if handled right ,after the plant is established of course, not in first two years i doubt.
