I planted a Kalmia latifolia early spring '08. It looks OK except that new growth is pale. Actually the veins of the new leaves are a good deep green but the remainder of the leaves seem to be lacking in chlroaphyl. Is this a nitrogen deficiency? And if so is blood meal a good thing to add? I live in Atlanta, zone 7b. Thanks, Bill
Kalmia leaves looking pale
Bill I see you never got a response on this. How are they doing now? If you have undiagnosed problems like what you described, your County Extension Office should be able to help by taking a leaf to them. Is the soil where they are planted acidic? Try some Hollytone on them.
