Amazing! What does our resident climatologist have to say about them? Keonikale?

New types of clouds! Asperatus
I honestly will be surprised if they 'officially' unveil a new name... first thing I thought when I saw them was that they were funky looking cumulus bottoms or maybe even rough looking cumulonimbus. I'm not sure how much influence the Cloud Appreciation Society has, but I will say those are some of the most interesting clouds I've seen in a long time. I'd actually be a bit worried if I saw those in person.
Mother nature never ceases to amaze with her displays of raw beauty.
That last picture is astonishing with all the twists and turns. At first I though they might be due to the different temperatures and updrafts of cities, but then I saw that they were appearing in the country side. I'm also wondering if the lack of sunspots on the sun and solar winds might have something to do with them.
But they are kinda scary!
