What about Qeen of Holland

(Zone 4a)

Does anyone have this one? It is consider a climber? I was thinking of pairing it with Blue Angel for a bit of a contrast....any idea?

This is Queen of Holland

Victoria

or

I have no experience with any of the above mentioned plants but would like a companion for Blue Angel.

ONE MORE THING.....

Do you think Black Prince would go well with Madame Julia Correvon?

Appleton, WI

It's an integrifolia/diversifolia.

It's not a climber, but it sounds great.

I think I still prefer a climber...This one looks cute.....I could probably pair it with either Blue Angel or my Madame Julia Correvon - what do you think????

Appleton, WI

I would love to see M. Julia Correvon with Black Prince. I might just do that myself if you don't mind. It will be a very classy combo that should be stunning.

(Zone 4a)

I don't mind at all......I was thinking it might look pretty neat.

Appleton, WI

Did you get anything, Dawn?

I know someone who might put Huldine and Will Goodwin together. While I think it would be pretty effect, maybe it would looked little washed out.

Delaware, OH

will goodwin prone to wilt and blooms low for at least a few years, and blooms earlier than huldine in my experience. so they might not bloom together.

i have q of H, but just put it in as a liner this year so have not report till next year.

julia c looks good with anything.....i have it next to a polish spirit and a pale old fashioned simple rose, but it is not touching the rose , or vice verd yet. the rose is blooming low, not climbing yet. it is a sally holmes rose. at least it is alive, which for me and roses is good.

Appleton, WI

Will Goodwin can bloom throughout the season. I think it's one of those clems that you have to leave alone and let it do it's own thing.

The big garden center (Steins) I went to yesterday had blooming Julia C's mixed in with the mixed displays of shrubs and larger perennials. It was cool to see so many of the graceful, cheery blooms. The amount of clematis they had compared to just three years ago is encouraging.

Delaware, OH

jj , here in columbus most nurseries will have a selection of clems one year, then not again for a few years, maybe just have the usual overused clems in the other years.
one nursery consistently has clems, pot bound gallons that have a lot of root power, but selection has narrowed and rarely anything interesting.
very inconsistent.
always checking i f i am there anyway but never count on anything local. your selection at steins sounds very good.

Appleton, WI

The selection is better than it was, but that was only in the last couple of years. The improved selection probably can be attributed to Monrovia.

Delaware, OH

hope my contact gets me the sapphire indigo soon. they do not need a monrovia order, but are seeing if they can get it sent in without doing an order that has a high minimum requirement.
i have never really bought any monrovia clems, as when i see them they are always ones i already had. nice to see bigger clems in the nurserys however. there are so many tiny clems in the nurserys here this year....such an issue as most people buy them, they die and they never look at clems again.

Appleton, WI

The ones at Steins already looked to be at max height. I wonder if 2 1/2 feet is understated.

(Zone 4a)

Julia I haven't gotten anything yet....I am still being a wuss....either that or I am still undecided on which ones to get the Black Prince really seems appealing too!

I think Huldine would look AMAZING with anything dark red or pink.....

Appleton, WI

I am always in easy ordering online. You could email the company to ask if you could send a money order.

(Zone 4a)

Ok I am looking for input from my most trusted clembuddies.....I might take that plunge tonight. I think i would really like the Black Prince (is this one a Viticella?)and I could pair that up with Julia Corrovon.

My second probem is that I LOVE Jenny but do you think she could be planted with my Blue Angel or would that be too blended in soft colours. Advice please.

Secondly please see the selection at Garden Imports and let me know if you see something that might be better suited to grow with Blue Angel since I already have that one planted.

Hellllllllllllllllp me with the plunge!!! Someone kick me in the behind!

Delaware, OH

go for blue angel and black prince
also julia corevon and negritana or black prince

go for it dawn. your green thumb deserves these cultivars and combos!

(Zone 4a)

What would I do with my soon to be Jenny if I got The Black Prince?

Maybe Jenny could be mixed with Julia Coverron? Would that be a weird match?

And then matchup Angel Blue with Black Prince?

Ideas?

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

For what it is worth , Debbie at SSV suggested her favorite is to blue clems together. ( she recommended Wisely and Dominika for me)
I do love the red and dark red of julia correvon and negritana or black prince too. I may copy that one day.

Are you ready to jump?

(Zone 4a)

Ok well I have made it to the end of the diving board and my toes are hanging over the edge teehee (thanks for asking bananna)...I dont see negritana at Garden Imports...let me check again.,....

(Zone 4a)

Maybe this one would look good with Blue Angel? A blue with purple?

Decisions decisions!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I having fun shopping with you... I don't know if this has merit, but I think it would look nicer if part of the stripe colour on one would "match" with the septals of the other. But I defer to the experts............

Delaware, OH

dawn, polish spirit and blue angel would be smashing and they were both bred by the same guy, so that's cool

i have polish spirit with perle de azure and they will be blooming together with in a few days....polish is already oopen and the perle is just about to pop. wil send you a pic of that , will be a similar color impact.
