I've seen the state champ Bur Oak tree and it is 23.9' in diameter at the trunk and it is a very large tree, near national champion size. The difference between those 2 trunks is about 5". It's too bad that Hannibal Catalpa photo doesn't show the trunk's size better in that photo.
