I don't know the purpose of the "hairs" surrounding those upper sepals (I think those are the sepals) but the flowers are pollinated by flies. With that in mind, it's no surprise that they smell like rotten meat. Not bad like some other Bulbos. Still, the beautiful flowers are worth it. |
