Once the hawk finds the pickins slim it moves on and the birds come back. When hawk does catch something they fly into a nearby tree and devour it. Usually this happens when we have company for supper and my dining room looks out over the yard. It is not very appetising.

I have tried to eliminate all the Crinum americanums, they are terribly invasive here, but this one slipped by. When I saw the buds I had to leave it until it bloomed.
