Noticed the cardinals singing away this weekend. I saw the female over checking out my Walter's Viburnum (V. obovatum) on Sat. and again on Sun. She was sitting there singing away. A pair once tried to nest in the crepe myrtle right next to this. It has died but I left the trunk there as habitat--too much of a pain to dig it up anyway. I would love to see them try nesting there again. Last spring a male was over there singing his little heart out (I snapped a picture of him).
