25 each of red and white clover blossoms
18 Fireweed blossoms
5 cups sugar
1/2 tsp Alum
1 1/4 water
Bring to a boil and boil slowly for 8 minutes, the sugar, alum and water.
Turn off heat, add blossoms and steep for 5-6 minutes.
Strain~~~pour into jars. Makes 2 pints.
This recipe was developed by the farm extension in the 1950's, if I remember correctly, before people started having bees shipped up.

Snow is the talk of the news/weather tonight. I submitted a pic to the local station; sure seems like September, not July.
According to the news tonight, so far this summer, there have been only 7 days of above 65* and15 days of above 60*.
