My biggest challenge was getting the plants to match as far as requirements, light, water, fertilizer. You can do this in a big bed, as you can get them far enough away from each other to accomodate. Sedum is nice, and goes well in mixed beds, but you wouldn't want to put it with siberian iris, for example, due to the water requirements. Iris, as Neal mentioned, is great, as they come in so many different colors. Even siberians now come in pinks and pale yellows. I also like shrubs with colored leaves for some interest all year round. |
