Vossner..the reason for the pots were esthetics and function..the bottom is cut out so the roots can eventually grow down into the soil.. Esthetically I wanted them to be be raised up and encompassed so not to have to worry about the grass growing into it..call it containment..LOL..yesterday, I had DH help me move my concrete birdbath that I have lugged to 3 different homes from Louisiana to my other house in Tomball to here in Willis...I will post a pic for yall to give me your idea..I created a "Bird Patio" a couple years ago and have feeders etc..the birds love it..I had thought of moving it onto that patio and either buying a new birdbath for the Gazebo or put a statue in the middle..here is my bird patio...so funny to see that pic..for I have done so much since then..a new pergola and my roses and clematis have filled in so much more!!...Jeanne
