Garden Pests and Diseases: What is this white worm??? Help please!, 1 by daisyruffles

Of course, found some slugs/snails eggs...............

Also found these white worms with a brown head as you can see from the picture.
They were down a few inches in the soil, not near the top at all.
I live in the NW so.......

Can someone tell me what they are???
What to do to get rid of them???
