I did a tiny bit of research on foam last night and found out that most closed cell foams don't absorb water, or don't absorb water well. Also, if they don't absorb water well they are usually resistant to mildew, mold, bacteria, etc. I guess I'll have to do some yucky & gross tests to see what will grow on this stuff and what won't. If nothing else maybe there's a way we could seal it. I'm going to see if I can find out exactly what it's made out of.
