Like many nymphs of the predatory stink bugs, this one has spots of color. Some species of these nymphs are gregarious which means there can be a whole "flock" of the little critters which of course often makes it look like they are up to no good. This is what a younger nymph of the predatory bug above looks like. In this case, the nymph is eating a Chrysomellidae, a leaf beetle. This nymph, like the drab brown predatory stink bug above, is called a spined soldier bug. |
