perrins pride for me is a very plum color, matte finish. really distinctive vs other purple clematis. slow to establish...hardy but not vigorous. but as it establishes, has a lot of blooms for the size of the plant and a long bloom period. here is mine planted with albaflora (herbaceous) clematis.
