They all came back up from the ground but the old growth had to be cut down. Saucer magnolias can have a lot of dieback with late spring cold snaps too but they come back nicely. Anyway nothing new under the sun when it comes to weather. Last year's late spring freeze (16 deg) did a number on a lot of shrubs (Japanese Maples took a hit).
