spidra wrote: Hi there. I went out to take pictures of my garden today and saw some huge sap drips on the trunk of my Blenheim apricot. The leaves aren't any more damaged that the usual insect depredation. The tree bore this year and the fruits were good. Googling gives me the idea that such sap ooze can be caused by Eutypa (gummosis), Brown Rot, or Bacterial Canker. I'm not sure if it's any of these. It was summer pruned by a professional I hired. I looked at the ends of the branches that were pruned and they have very very light brown spots in the cross-section. Do you figure the sap ooze is simply from stress or is it an indicator of disease? |
