One is a historic called ALCAZAR which we call the "root beer iris", another is an Intermediate Bearded which blooms just before the tall ones, called BROADWAY BABY. My husband and I think it has a fragrance of "tuitty-fruitty". And, at Delaware Valley College, which is the garden that I maintain, there is the most fragrant RENOWN. It's sweet fragrance can be sensed long before you even get near it. Here's a photo of these three. ALCAZAR is bitone violet, BROADWAY BABY is bicolored yellow and red-white, and RENOWN is a cream white. All can be viewed at plant files iris cultivars. |
