Crane Fly

The gangly, long legged Crane Fly (House) can often be seen hanging with its wings spread out on walls inside and outside houses. They are not strong fliers. They seem to wobble/zig zag through the air.
The adult fly lives on nectar or nothing at all, and most species live to mate and die. Apparently 600 species have been reported.

The larvae live on rotting vegetation.

They are not harmful to humans and do not bite us.
