Leaf-footed Bug

These bugs are quite a pest. They suck sap, mainly from fruit. I found them on my tomato. The adults are difficult to get rid of since most pesticides don't affect them. Hand picking can be effective. I use a pair of large tweezers, jewelry / electronic, not the beauty isle kind. You can make some modified chopsticks, with the rubber band. Some people use a handheld vacuum. If your not using a vac you'll need a container to put them in. You can make a simple and easy handheld trap. Take a small disposable plastic food container, like the kind they sell lunch meat in, and use a utility knife to cut a large + in the lid.
