One of the largest common native beetle species in North America - only the males have the "horns" - also called Stag Horn Beetles. Their grubs are dug up once in a while in my yard - clearly Stag Horn Beetles from their large size. They are attracted to lights in the night and also scares the living daylight out of anyone walking at dusk or at night when the beetles crashes into them or into the door or windows when they are nearby and have outside lights on!
